StoryChorus enters its second year!
StoryChorus started in BCCO's 50th year as a community storytelling project, to capture the excitement of our anniversary celebration and to explore our unique history. Enjoy wandering through the site to explore stories, photographs, music, and more contributed by Berkeley Community Chorus & Orchestra and its extended "family."
Berkeley Community Chorus & Orchestra ended its 50th Anniversary celebration with performances of Verdi's Requiem in Belgium, in Brussels and Ypres, and in Stuttgart, Germany under the baton of Ming Luke, music director. Check out photos contributed by tour members from the 2016 tour. (Tour members can still send in photos and stories at any time.)
Support BCCO in its 50th Year!
50 years of joyful rehearsals, breathtaking choral masterpieces, a loyal community of singers, growing audiences, dynamic performances, an outstanding orchestra, thrilling soloists, gifted young assistant conductors, highly successful composer competitions, a tradition of free concerts and of welcoming singers of all levels of experience, with no auditions. Founded in 1966 by Eugene Jones — the first African American conductor of a large Bay Area chorus and orchestra — BCCO choristers sing with deep commitment to community and an understanding of the power of music and the arts to create a better world. Help us keep going for another 50 years!
